To be an attraction for investors, developers and buyers a region has to have good amenities that facilitate the livelihoods of the populace. As we visited Nakuru County, we were keen to see what structures the county government had put up to ensure that the environment was conducive for property developers and buyers. In our endeavors we were honored to meet with Governor Kinuthia Mbugua and his Deputy Joseph Rutto.
Hon. Kinuthia Mbugua was keen to highlight the various structures that the county had put in place to make it a safe haven for investment. Key among them has been ensuring that the Nakuru Central Business District is clean and decongested. This has been achieved by moving the hawkers from the streets into a state of the art market place, the county government went further and removed the street children from the streets into children homes thus increasing the security and order within the town. To keep up with its reputation as the clean town the Nakuru county government hired cleaners whose mandate is to ensure that the streets are kept clean at all times. Speaking to The Property Show, Nakuru County’s Minister of Environment and Energy Hon. Richard Rop was keen to state the county government hasn’t been able to achieve this on its own. The county has developed a cordial relationship with the private sector who have been able to contribute to the cleanliness of the county.
Hon. Kinuthia was able to take us through the efforts made to provide good and affordable state of the art healthcare. The Nakuru level 5 hospital has been able to be equipped to meet the medical of the residents in the area and the neighboring counties.
On matters transport the county is currently constructing an interchange to enable smooth travel to and from the county.
